Working Toward Zero Waste
We proudly support the sustainability goals of Wheaton College. Here are a few active initiatives.
Collaborative Composting
We partner with The Plante Brothers Farming š112 Oak Street, Norton, MA to collect clean food scrapsālike fruits, veggies, bread, grains, dairy, eggs, and vegetable oilsāto help feed their pigs.
Robust Recycling
To support sustainability, Chase Commons offers green reusable to-go containers. We also follow Wheaton Collegeās recycling rules by properly sorting cardboard, metal, paper, glass, approved plastics.
Proactive Prevention
We use tracking and forecasting tools to proactively identify food waste trends in order to alter our preparation accordingly.
Showcasing Our Local Partnerships & Sustainability Efforts
Wheaton Dining sources food from a variety of local farmers, growers, and distributors. Our partners may change throughout the year based on seasonality and availability, ensuring the freshest ingredients for our campus community. We are committed to sustainability, offering responsibly sourced tuna, cage-free eggs, and other ethically produced foods that support animal welfare and environmentally responsible practices.
